BIOGRAPHY...

Appearing on television every week does wonders for one's popularity, so Frans decides to wander around the dungeons of Dutch Broadcasting a little longer, hosting a variety of shows and acting a variety of parts. But there's too much tinsel in Tinseltown for his taste, so he returns to the theatre with his first musical part. Audiences and critics are taken by surprise: not only can he act, he can sing too!

And so he catches the attention of musical producers Joop van den Ende and Cameron Mackintosh and is offered the part of 'The Engineer' in the Dutch production of Miss Saigon. He gets nominated for the Dutch Musical Award twice for his parts in Koning van Katoren and De Scheepsjongens van Bontekoe, plays 'Zoser' in Elton John's Aida, and proves that you can still rock 'n roll at 40 in The Official Tribute to the Blues Brothers. That is, if you have a good physio-therapist...

Music becomes more and more important. In 2003, a dream comes true when he is able to sing Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage with Egon Kracht & The Troupe. The crowd and the critics love it, and the show tours off and on for three years, reaching it's climax in front of 3000 Zappa-fanatics at the annual Zappanale in Rostock, Germany.

The Troupe shows him new possibilities. Standing in front of a microphone more and more feels like the place to be. He gets noted for his performance of the songs of Dutch singer/composer Ramses Shaffy and decides it's time to install a garageband in his eMac and starts composing again. The reuslt: a brand new rock opera based on Goethe's Faust.

As we speak, Frans is exploiting his talents on all fields; television, theatre, music.

Why settle for less?
