"For years, I wanted to write a rock opera based on Goethe's Faust. But producing a rock opera in Holland is like trying to get a hedgehog to sing Rigoletto. But one night, as I sat drinking with Egon Kracht, A Light Shone Down From Heaven: I would write it, and we would perform it as a band. No sets, no actors, just a band and some great music."

I wrote the libretto, composed half of the music, and we had a great time playing it. It would become the work that I'm most proud of.
